The director general of Russia’s TASS news agency has congratulated the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on its 90th anniversary.

In a message to IRNA’s CEO Hossein Jaberi-Ansari on Thursday, Andrey Kondrashov hailed the milestone as a testament to IRNA’s rich history as Iran’s first and oldest media outlet and its key role in shaping the narrative of the Islamic Republic over the decades.

He also highlighted the significance of IRNA’s Russian-language website in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

Kondrashov said the long-standing cooperation between TASS and IRNA has further cemented the deep-rooted friendship between Russia and Iran, in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.

Addressing Jaberi-Ansari, he also acknowledged IRNA’s undeniable contribution to the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) under his leadership.

Expressing hope for IRNA’s continued growth and success, Kondrashov said he was confident that the agency would keep expanding in the coming years and consistently provide high-quality content for its audience.
