Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a meeting with a group of students from all over the country (22/12/1403), referring to the U.S. government's attempt to deceive the world's public opinion about negotiations, said: "The U.S. wants to propagate the falsehood that 'Iran is unwilling to negotiate and reach agreements, unlike us.'

Yet, the very individual making these claims is the same person who tore up the outcomes of our previous negotiations with America. How can we negotiate with someone who we know will not honor their commitments."

The following points are noteworthy in connection with America's deceptive policy of negotiating with Iran.

-The nuclear negotiations were an experience that proved that Trump is not a man of negotiation. After two years of negotiations and concluding and reaching an agreement with his country, he walked under the negotiating table and with one signature, nullified the results of the negotiations that had been signed by his country's former president. Besides Trump, previous U.S. governments have also shown that they used negotiations only to secure their own interests and did not pay attention to the interests of the other party. Apart from the nuclear negotiations, Iran also negotiated with the US on other issues such as MacFarlane's secret trip to Tehran, developments in Iraq, the emergence of the Taliban in Afghanistan, and the massacre of Muslims in Bosnia, but in all cases it was met with US renege and continued hostility against Iran.

-America is not a negotiator, and even at times like the events of the riots of 1401 in Iran, in a miscalculation and lack of understanding of the Iranian people, it did not talk about negotiations and supported "regime change." At this point, American and European officials, who claim to negotiate to achieve a solution to problems, naively considered sabotage on the way to reaching a conclusion of the JCPOA agreement as a form of support for the unrest in Iran and boasted about it. They ignorantly took photos with the counter-revolutionaries with democratic gestures and said that instead of the negotiating table, we want to pursue our goals in the streets and in the chaos and turmoil.

-The U.S. use of various tools, including military threats, economic sanctions, declarations of readiness for negotiations, and even sending letter to the Supreme Leader, is a propaganda ploy and psychological pressure to influence public opinion in Iran and the region. Trump is trying to present himself in the field of diplomacy as a peace-loving individual willing to talk and introduce Iran as a stubborn country that avoids negotiations. This repetitive approach has been used many times by Western governments, including the U.S., and is ineffective because in this process, the main obstacle to negotiations is the U.S., which has not made its decision to return to the JCPOA and lift sanctions, and is only pretending to negotiate.

-Fortunately, today, most people with different tastes and tendencies and officials, including members of the Supreme National Security Council in Iran, have a single opinion on negotiating with the U.S., and this has become a national decision.

Iran is a man of logic and reasoning, and in foreign relations, it advocates dialogue and negotiation to resolve global and regional disputes and conflicts and strengthen bilateral relations. Iran's negotiations with three European countries at the coming days and participation in a trilateral meeting with China and Russia indicate the country's positive approach to negotiations, and this trend will continue, except with the United States.
