The quake struck at 10:23 AM at a depth of 10 kilometers with its epicenter in Badrood District, 5 kilometers away from Natanz, and followed by several aftershocks.
The tremors left cracks in houses in villages around the city and left the entrance to the caravanserai in the historic Natanz market collapsed and the walls of some dilapidated houses.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties in the quake.
Meanwhile, the deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said that the two earthquakes recorded in Natanz had no impact on the nuclear facility there.
The design of the Natanz nuclear facility is such that even earthquakes with higher intensity would not affect it, Behrouz Kamalvandi emphasized.
