Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is set to travel to Yerevan to hold talks with Armenian officials on the issues of commons interests.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has announced that Araqchi will visit Armenia on Monday within the framework of Iran's continuous consultations with its neighbors regarding bilateral relations and regional developments.

The top Iranian diplomat has been invited by his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan.

Apart from consulting with the Armenian foreign minister, Araqchi will also meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and other officials to discuss and exchange views on bilateral relations as well as the latest developments in the Caucasus region.

Just days ago, President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a telephone conversation with Pashinyan, exchanged views on bilateral relations abd emphasized the importance of regional peace and stability, particularly among neighboring countries.

Iran and Armenia have maintained cordial relations since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1992.
