Ayatollah Khamenei: Quds Day rallies this year are of greater significance than before

Tehran, IRNA – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says rallies on this year’s International Quds Day (Friday, March 28) are of greater significance than years past.

In a televised message on Thursday night, Ayatollah Khamenei said Quds Day rallies have always been a source of pride for the Iranian nation and a sign of how Iranians stay committed to their fundamental political goals and never drop their support for the Palestinian cause.

The Leader said the rallies this year carry more weight.

“World nations and those who are familiar with the Islamic system are supporters of the Iranian nation. But some governments that are opposed to the Islamic Republic, by conducting propaganda against the Iranian nation, [seek to] project [the image that] that there is division and weakness within the Iranian nation; the Quds Day rallies will negate all these falsehoods,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader expressed hope that this year’s rallies will be among “the best, most glorious” demonstrations.

The annual Quds Day rallies are held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. Processions are planned across Iran on March 28.
