Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi Araqchi has urged the European Union to take a clear stand against the U.S. aggression targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, stating that these assaults not only threaten the country’s peaceful nuclear program but also undermine the principles of the international order.

Araqchi made these remarks during a phone conversation with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani on Monday. He said that the international community, particularly the European Union, must react to such aggression, as it poses a threat to Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities and violates fundamental principles of international order and the U.N. Charter.

The Iranian minister categorically condemned the military aggression, asserting that the Islamic Republic retains the right to employ all options within the framework of legitimate defense.

Tajani, for his part, expressed regret over the escalation of tensions in the region following the U.S. attacks, calling for all parties to return to diplomacy.

The U.S. carried out three assaults on nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow early on Sunday
