The Secretary-General of the (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council ([P]GCC) has termed the so-called Greater Israel project as a dire threat to the national security of Arab countries.

In an interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi said on Sunday that the member states of the ([P]GCC) firmly reject any expansionist ambitions that jeopardize the sovereignty of Arab countries.

The member states have warned of the dangers these aspirations pose to regional peace and stability.

He added that the members of the alliance stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli aggression in Gaza, particularly condemning the atrocities committed by occupying forces against civilians.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Al-Budaiwi reiterated the bloc’s condemnation of Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, particularly military incursions in the buffer zone, along with violations of Syrian sovereignty.

He also reaffirmed the alliance’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in an article published in Asharq Al-Awsat, has called for collective action against the Israeli regime’s aggressive policies, referencing its illusion of ‘Greater Israel’, which he described as an existential threat to the Islamic world.
