President Pezeshkian made the remarks in a meeting with his Bolivian counterpart, Luis Alberto Arce Catacora in New York on Wednesday.
The meeting took place on Thursday morning, local time, at the Iranian president’s residence in New York, United States.
The Iranian president criticized the unilateral policies of the United States, stating that these approaches not only target Iran but also affect all nations that do not align with US strategies.
He urged countries that value their independence and position in the international system to enhance their scientific, technical, and specialized capabilities to safeguard their national interests and sovereignty.
Pezeshkian acknowledged Bolivia's collaboration with Iran over the years and highlighted the recent political developments in Bolivia.
He noted that the future of Tehran-La Paz relations depends on the mutual will and determination of the two nations' senior officials.
He reassured that Iran is committed to fostering strong ties and that Bolivia's policy direction will play a crucial role in shaping future cooperation.
The Bolivian president expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and echoed concerns about US militaristic policies, particularly in the Caribbean region, labeling them a threat to international peace and security.
He reaffirmed Bolivia's desire for continued and deepened friendly relations with Iran, emphasizing the positive impact of Iran's presence in Latin America over the years.
So far, President Pezeshkian has held meetings with numerous figures, including the presidents of France, Switzerland, and Finland, as well as the prime minister of Norway and the European Council President Antonio Costa.
He has also met with several anti-war figures at his residence in New York.
President Pezeshkian also made a speech at the UNGA meeting on Wednesday morning local time.
