President: Production and export are the path to overcoming sanctions

He made the remarks in West Azerbaijan, northwestern Iran, in a meeting with investors and economic stakeholders on Thursday.

Highlighting the importance of regular dialogue and coordinated policy-making, President Pezeshkian stated: “We firmly believe that the way to tackle economic difficulties and resist the pressure of sanctions lies in boosting domestic production and expanding exports.

“Any obstacles from the government side will be addressed in collaboration with relevant agencies to facilitate trade for economic actors.”

He also underscored the need to curb flaring in oil fields, noting: “A massive volume of flare gas is currently being burned across the country. If properly managed, it could generate $5 to $6 billion annually.”

Prior to the President’s speech, a ceremony was held to sign agreements and inaugurate development projects in West Azerbaijan Province. Attended by the provincial governor, senior officials, and representatives from various organizations and universities, the event featured both economic and environmental initiatives
