According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, Mohammadreza Safari, the Director General of the Africa Office at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, said the export figure recorded during the eight-month period is equal to Iran’s total exports to Africa in the entire previous year.
Mohammadreza Safari expressed hope that Iran’s exports to African countries would reach $1 billion by the end of the year.
He added that Iran’s imports from African countries during the same period amounted to $45 million.
Safari identified Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Somalia, and Tanzania as Iran’s five main export destinations in Africa over the past eight months.
According to the official, Iran’s main exports to African markets include iron ingots, steel, urea, bitumen, food products, motor oil, and cement.
