According to Khabaronline, Speaking at a press briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that China has consistently supported an approach based on respect for national independence and the rejection of external pressure. He expressed hope that the Iranian government and people would be able to overcome existing challenges and maintain social and political stability.
Referring to China’s principled policy on regional developments, the spokesperson stated: “China firmly opposes interference by external forces in Iran’s internal affairs and calls on all parties to play a constructive role in preserving peace and stability in the Middle East.” He added that escalating tensions would not help resolve the region’s complex challenges.
Lin Jian also pointed to the 25-year comprehensive cooperation agreement between Tehran and Beijing, signed in 2021, noting that China’s foreign policy is based on long-term economic and political partnerships rather than military alliances—an approach he described as reflecting Beijing’s pragmatic view of international relations.
He further emphasized that China’s positions are rooted in support for the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law, stressing that Beijing sees itself as committed to defending multilateralism and international justice.
This Chinese stance comes in the wake of recent remarks by Donald Trump regarding Iran’s internal developments. Those statements, which have drawn international reactions, have once again turned foreign interference in domestic affairs into a sensitive and widely debated issue.
In recent days, Trump has commented on Iran’s internal situation and adopted what were described as threatening positions.
