According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, In a statement issued on Tuesday (January 6), Baghaei reacted to the latest Israeli attacks, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and declaring solidarity with the Lebanese government and people.
According to the reports, Israel carried out new airstrikes in continued violation of the ceasefire agreement, targeting several areas across Lebanon. In the latest round of attacks, Israeli forces struck the town of Al-Manara in the Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon. Israeli fighter jets also bombed the town of Anan in southern Lebanon and attacked Ain al-Tineh, also located in the south.
Baghaei said the targeting of residential and industrial areas as well as urban infrastructure constituted a clear violation of the principles of the UN Charter and international law, stressing the need to hold the Israeli regime accountable and punish it for committing war crimes.
He further pointed to Israel’s repeated breaches of the ceasefire understanding over the past year, underscoring the responsibility of the ceasefire guarantors.
Baghaei urged the international community, the United Nations, and regional states to take more decisive measures to counter the aggression and escalation by what he referred to as the occupying regime.
