During the investigation and interrogation stages, Ardastani admitted to knowingly cooperating with Mossad officers and acknowledged being fully aware that he was providing classified and strategically valuable information to a hostile intelligence service. Officials said he also confessed to holding in-person meetings with an internal intermediary, through whom he delivered collected data and received further instructions.
Judicial authorities reported that the convicted individual stated his motives included the prospect of receiving a substantial financial reward and obtaining residency or a visa for a European country. He was arrested while allegedly carrying out an active assignment.
Following the completion of investigations and the issuance of an indictment, the defendant was tried in court with full observance of legal procedures. During the hearings, he reportedly accepted the charges and provided detailed accounts of his cooperation with Mossad.
