According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, Speaking to the reporters today on the sidelines of a government cabinet meeting, Araghchi stated that current conditions are “not suitable” for negotiations with the United States, citing ongoing American policies as the primary obstacle. While noting the lack of progress, he emphasized that Iran remains open to diplomacy under specific conditions.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has never left the negotiating table,” Araghchi told the press. “We are always ready for negotiations based on mutual respect and interests, but such an approach is currently not evident in the U.S. administration.”
Visit to Lebanon
The Foreign Minister also announced an official visit to Lebanon scheduled for tomorrow. He highlighted the deep-rooted nature of the bilateral relationship, noting that Iran seeks to expand cooperation with all sectors of Lebanese society and the state.
He expressed a strong desire to expand these ties, noting that there is significant mutual interest from the Lebanese side as well.
The Foreign Minister stated that a high-ranking economic delegation will accompany him on this trip to explore further cooperation.
Iran’s Domestic Affairs “None of Foreigners’ Business”
The Foreign Minister also addressed recent remarks by U.S. officials regarding Iran’s internal situation, asserting that Iran’s domestic affairs are the concern of no one but its own people. He noted that the government is engaged with the public to address any grievances or issues, expressing his firm hope for a successful resolution.
Araghchi further emphasized that Iran’s internal matters are strictly off-limits to any foreign government.
