Supreme Leader of Iran: United Nation Will Overcome Any Enemy

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with thousands of people from various segments of society in Qom on the anniversary of the Qom uprising in 1989, said: “Dear young people, preserve your faith, your political thought, your presence, your readiness, your seriousness in the matter of the country’s progress, and your unity. Preserve your unity. A united nation will overcome any enemy.”

According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, The Supreme Leader emphasized that the downfall of the corrupt Pahlavi regime and its principal supporter, the United States, was a result of their miscalculations. He asserted: "Today, the Iranian nation, blessed by the Islamic Republic’s software, spiritual strength, and hardware capabilities, is far stronger than it was then. The arrogant and miscalculating United States will be defeated, and the powerful Islamic system, built with the blood of hundreds of thousands of honorable martyrs, will not yield to the disruptive elements who are engaged in destruction."

Referring to recent destructive events within the country, he added: "There are individuals whose sole purpose is destruction. Just as last night in Tehran and other locations, a group of vandals demolished buildings belonging to their own nation to please the President of the United States."

Ayatollah Khamenei continued: "If he can dedicate himself to governing his own country, which is beset by various problems. He ordered the attack in the 12-day war and personally commanded it. Yet, this very individual claims to support the Iranian people, and misguided individuals believe him, setting trash cans ablaze according to his wishes and engaging in such acts."

He stressed that the Islamic Republic was founded with the blood of hundreds of thousands of honorable people and will not tolerate the servitude of foreign powers. The Iranian nation rejects any foreign mercenary, regardless of their origin.

Regarding the President of the United States, the Supreme Leader remarked: "That man, who speaks and judges the entire world with arrogance and pride, should remember that historically, tyrants and arrogant rulers – such as Nero, Pharaoh, Reza Khan, and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi – were overthrown when they reached the peak of their arrogance. He, too, will face the same fate."

He described the Pahlavi government as the worst regime in contemporary history and added: "When that corrupt and weak government collapsed, as Imam Khomeini promised, a people-oriented government emerged. Replacing a regime dependent on 'America, Zionism, and the other riffraff of global politics,' an independent government was established in our beloved Iran."

The Supreme Leader attributed the disastrous Qom uprising and the Iranian nation's victory over the Pahlavi regime to the flawed policies and miscalculations of the Pahlavi regime and the United States. He stated: "Ten days before the honorable and revolutionary people of Qom, the President of the United States in Tehran called the Pahlavi era Iran an island of stability, praising the dependent regime, revealing his ignorance of the Iranian nation."

Explaining historical facts and realities, he emphasized the United States' persistent and deep-seated miscalculations regarding the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic. He said: "These miscalculations led to America's defeat then, and it will not receive anything but defeat today."

In explaining the "lessons and causes of the victory of the Qom uprising and the Iranian nation in overthrowing the Pahlavi regime," he added: "At that time, the Iranian nation lacked hardware weapons like cannons and tanks, but possessed the power of soft weapons – which are decisive in all arenas. Faith in Islam, religious fervor, spiritual commitment, a sense of responsibility, diligence, and love for Iran were the software elements of the Iranian nation in confronting the subservient Pahlavi regime. The nation saw that Americans and their mercenaries and those beholden to Zionists were governing their country, which angered, enraged, and disgusted them."

He further elaborated on the consequences of the nation’s resistance against American coercion, asserting: "Today, the glorious Iranian nation is stronger, more cohesive, and more prepared in terms of software, spiritual, and material strength than it was then. Its hardware capabilities are now comparable. Those who are dismayed by the nation's confrontation with America are oblivious to the fact that America and its allies initiated and continue their fight against the nation, because the Islamic Republic, backed by the people, vast wealth, and immense resources, has freed Iran from their grasp. This is precisely why America is so frustrated and disgusted with the Iranian nation."

He cited the situations in Latin America as examples of America's attempts to exploit the resources of other nations, stating: "A country is besieged, and they shamelessly claim their actions are for oil. Just as before the revolution, Iran’s oil and resources were controlled by oppressors, Zionists, and their agents."

Ayatollah Khamenei, recalling the persistent hostility of Americans towards the Islamic Republic, added: "By the grace of God, the Islamic system has grown stronger day by day, and their conspiracies to destroy the system have failed. Consequently, today, contrary to their wishes, the Islamic Republic stands powerful, proud, and respected in the world."

He stated that the Islamic Republic’s governance is the reason for the enemy's defeat, despite their deployment of various military, security, economic, cultural, and mercenary tactics. He explained: "If a liberal democracy, a monarchy, or a regime dependent on external powers had governed Iran, it would not have been able to withstand these pressures. However, this Islamic and people-oriented system has achieved significant progress in science, technology, international policy, and many other fields."

The Supreme Leader firmly dismissed the notion that Iran is isolated, saying: "These claims, originating from foreign powers and echoed by some within the country, are a form of self-deception. Because today, Iran, as an independent, courageous, and future-oriented nation, is recognized as prominent on the world stage."

He identified the youth as the driving force behind many of the country's activities and advancements, from sending satellites into space to advancements in nuclear science, stem cells, nanotechnology, and medicine. He said: "Of course, not all young people and the general public are at the same level, but in general, the younger generation, contrary to the enemy's fabrications, are among Iran's most significant assets."

Ayatollah Khamenei addressed the young people, saying: "Dear young people! Preserve your faith, your political awareness, your engagement, your determination to advance the country, and your unity, because a unified nation will triumph over any enemy, and God willing, the feeling of victory will soon permeate the hearts of all Iranians."
