No Halt in Ship Movements to Iranian Ports

The Secretary-General of the Iranian Shipping and Related Services Association has stated that commercial vessels continue to operate from all import ports toward Iran.

According to Khabaronline, Masoud Polmeh, Secretary-General of the Iranian Shipping and Related Services Association, in letters to Dehghan Dehnavi, Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, under the subject “Denial of the Non-Movement of Commercial Ships Toward Iran,” rejected reports claiming that ships from Jebel Ali and other regional hubs were not moving toward Iran.

He stated that commercial vessel traffic from all import ports to Iranian ports is ongoing.

The letter reads: “Regarding the reports claiming that ships are not moving from Jebel Ali and other hubs toward Iran, and based on fully reliable information, vessel traffic from all import origins to ports of the Islamic Republic of Iran continues. There is no disruption in the export or import of goods from the southern ports. However, Shahid Rajaee Port is currently experiencing container congestion due to slow customs clearance processes.”

The letter also notes the necessity of taking measures to expedite the departure of goods from ports under current regional conditions. Other challenges include the accumulation of cargo and delays in container ship berthing.
