At the same time, foreign policy committee is to consider a request made by a British parliamentary delegation to visit Iran.
A member of national security and foreign policy commission of the Parliament, Mohammad Karami Raad told Khabar Online that the entity will study the issue of severing or lowering the level of ties with Britain on Sunday at a meeting to be attended by the officials of the Foreign Ministry.
Earlier Hassan Sobhani-Nia, the second deputy of national security and foreign policy commission of the Parliament had said that the entity will possibly approve a request by a parliamentary delegation from UK for visiting Iran.
He had declared: "A team in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs opined that the group includes members of the opposition Conservatives rival of Labour Party led by Gordon Brown in British Parliament and it's quite possible to win the forthcoming parliamentary election in the country. We will consider holding a session with them and perhaps accept their request for paying a visit to Iran."
It should be noted that several lawmakers had called for cutting ties with Britain. Meanwhile Mohammad Karim Abedi, the member of national security and foreign policy commission of the Parliament had told our correspondent that since British officials have interfered in Iranian affairs during post-elections unrest, the travel of a UK parliamentary delegation to our country is not expected to receive a green light by the Parliament.
