The second edition of non-competitive Iranian film festival is planned to be held in the Czech capital city of Prague to present the country’s cinema.

The festival is scheduled to be held in several sections focusing on the subject about children.

The screen works created by the Iranian auteurs such as Abbas Kiarostami, Nasser Taqvaie, Bahram Beyzaie, Amir Naderi and Ebrahim Forouzesh are among the festival’s line up.

At this year’s program one night will be dedicated to Afghan cinema and one particular section is programmed to present a number of the remarkable Iranian animations.

The festival is also to screen some foreign movies that have link to Iranian cinema.

The first edition of the festival was held last year with the theme of ‘Woman in Iranian Cinema’ that received huge acclaim with some 2700 audiences during four nights.

Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi's Academy Award winning film A Separation along with some other productions by Rakhshan Bani- Etemad, Reza Mirkarimi, Kambozia Partovi and Niki Karimi garnered high praise from critics and moviegoers during last year’s festival in Prague.

Wooden Gunes by Shapour Gharib, Where is the Friend's House? by Abbas Kiarostami, Key by Ebrahim Forouzesh and Mother by Leila Mir-Hadi are some of the movies scheduled to be screened at the festival.

The second Iranian film festival in Prague is programmed to take place from January 9 through13, 2013.
