Zafar Ali Shah said in an interview with IRNA on Saturday that given its defensive power, Iran is the sole country capable of maintaining the balance of power in the region.
Stressing Iran’s capability and power to counter West’s plots, the lawmaker praised the Islamic Republic’s defensive strategy to defy the Western powers' threats and pressures.
The Pakistani official said the fact that Iran’s defensive power can ensure peace and stability is the reason why Israel is terrified of Tehran’s military advances.
Describing Iran’s position in the region as important, Ali Shah said Middle Eastern countries should form an Islamic bloc in order to counter Israel’s evil schemes.
Over the past years, Iran has made important breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems.
The Islamic Republic has also held several military maneuvers to enhance the defensive capabilities of its armed forces and to test modern military tactics and equipment.
The Islamic Republic has repeatedly assured other nations, especially its neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
