Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in a phone talk conferred on the latest developments in the relations between the two countries as well as major regional issues.

During the phone talks on Wednesday, Zarif and Lavrov discussed the latest developments in nuclear negotiations between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany).

They also exchanged views on the expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Russia, and reviewed the latest developments in the Middle-East region, specially in Syria along with other regional and international issues.

Iran and Russia have vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres.

The two states also enjoy special positions on the international scene and have long had constant and regular consultations on key regional and global issues.
