Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed his government's efforts to improve Iran's status among other world countries, and said Tehran has established good relations with

"Our first attempt was to change Iran's status before the statesmen and the international public opinion to depict a desirable status of the Iranian nation, Revolution and system in their minds," President Rouhani said.

The Iranian president underlined Iran's good relations with the neighbors, and called for unity and solidarity of all political fractions by analyzing the complicated situation of the region.

In relevant remarks in September, Senior Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi underlined Iran's vital role in the establishment of peace and tranquility in the region, and said maintaining good relations with the neighboring states sets a priority for Tehran.

The military official described Iran as a regional power with international influence, and stated that Tehran respects the territorial integrity of its neighbors and seeks to expand economic and political ties with them.

He, however, advised certain countries to seek friendly relations with Iran rather than siding with the US and the Israeli regime.
