Dastis made the remarks in a Wednesday's meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
During the meeting, Zarif emphasized the need for development of Tehran-Madrid relations in all fields.
Both sides also stressed promoting mutual cooperation in tourism, environment, energy, advanced technology, transportation and academic fields.
They also discussed regional issues.
The two also signed MoUs on promotion of political consultations and railway cooperation.
