Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi expressed pleasure over a decision made by Armenian parliament in electing new prime minister, and said that Iran welcomes stability, security and tranquility in Armenia.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Saturday, Qasemi said stability and security for neighbors are among the most important priorities for Iran, adding that Iran is ready to develop and deepen ties with Armenia in all fields.

Armenian parliament elected opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan as new prime minister of the country by 59 positive and 42 negative votes on May 8, 2018.
