FM Zarif: Iran's negotiations with China constructive

Politics - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described negotiations with China as 'positive and constructive'.

'We reached an agreement with China and we will have close cooperation with china as member P5+1-1 to reach tangible guarantees in line with both countries’ interests, Zarif told reporters at Beijing airport.

Iran and China as two old partners are after developing ties, he said referring to the fact that negotiations will have positive impact on reinforcing international consensus to preserve Iran's nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang earlier expressed willingness for promoting relations with Iran.

“China is a contracting party to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and closely follows the developments of the Iranian nuclear issue. We are willing to maintain communication with Iran and other relevant parties,” he added.

Zarif went on to say that Iran and China have common stance on JCPOA which is to keep the deal while respecting Iran's interests.

Referring to his upcoming meetings with Russian officials, Zarif said, 'We will hold talks over regional issues.'

He underlined that despite some differences, they will not create hurdles in the way of strategic relations between Tehran and Moscow.

The Iranian foreign minister commented on the slump in Iran's oil exports, and said, 'We believe that JCPOA signatories will not let the US to interfere in their affairs.'
