Senior Advisor to Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi Ansari heading a delegation departed for Geneva, Switzerland, on Monday morning.

Jaberi Ansari is slated to hold talks with the representatives of Russia and Turkey as the peace guarantors in Syria as well as UN secretary-general's envoy Staffan de Mistura today (June 18) evening.

Meanwhile, envoys of Iran, Russia and Turkey and de Mistura would also attend the quadrilateral meeting to review the latest development in this Arab country on Tuesday (June 19) morning.

Facilitating the ways for launching Syria's Constitutional Committee, as one of the major results of the Sochi peace congress brokered by Iran, Russia and Turkey in January this year, is the main topic to be discussed by Jaberi Ansari and de Mistura.

On June 10, senior Iranian and UN diplomats in a meeting in Tehran discussed initiatives and specific executive proposals to start work of Syria's Constitutional Committee.

Jaberi Ansari said in the meeting with De Mistura the two sides discussed new a round of consultations in the field of Syrian Constitutional Committee.

De Mistura welcomed Iran's proposals and offered his viewpoints and underlined the need for continuation of consultations between the three guarantor states, the Syrian government and opposition as well as the UN to form and activate Syrian Constitutional Committee.

The two sides also discussed the latest situation for dossiers of detained Syrians, bodies of the killed persons and those missing in action (MiAs).

Jaberi Ansari and de Mistura also talked about special working group third session for exchange, which is to be held in Ankara in the presence of representatives of three guarantor states in Astana and the UN as well as representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
