Iran-UK trade jumps 17% in January-April

United Kingdom Department for International Trade has announced in its latest report that the value of trade between the country and Iran rose 17% in January-April compared with the same period in 2022.

The figures cited in a Sunday report by the IRNA showed that total trade in goods and services between the UK and Iran rose £27 million in the first four months of 2022, up from £23 million in the same period last year.

Accordingly, UK import from Iran in January-April reached £7 million ($9 million), almost flat from the same period last year.

UK export to Iran has grew by 25% to reach £20 million ($25 million) over the same period. That comes as the UK had exported some £16 million worth of goods and services to Iran during the same period last year.

According to the report, total trade between Iran and the UK increased by 72% in 2022 compared to the year before to reach £696 million.
