Iran installs fish farming cages in Oman Sea to boost local economy

As many as 57 fish farming cages have been set up in the Sea of Oman in line with developing fishing which will benefit local dweller’s livelihood, a local official reported.

Speaking to IRNA on Sunday, Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Fisheries Organization said that each cage will provide job opportunities for three people.

Ataollah Raisi added that the project can prepare the ground for creating jobs for youth.

It is one of the best methods for farming all kinds of fish so that the breeder is safe from any danger and accidents like storms, piracy, and harvests high-quality fish based on the investment and the number of cages, he noted.

He vowed for increasing the number of cages to 107 aiming to boost farming capacity to over 600 tons.
