Iran FM meets counterparts in Baku

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met and held talks with his counterparts in the Azerbaijani capital Baku where the Iranian top diplomat is attending a ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which is being held in Baku City Hall, Amirabdollahian met and held talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the strengthening of relations between Tehran and Kuwait, and also they discussed ways to solve regional issues.

Amirabdollahian also held a separate meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Zambry Abdul Kadir on Wednesday.

They stressed the expansion of political and economic ties between Tehran and Kuala Lumpur.

The two-day foreign ministerial meeting of NAM started in Baku earlier in the day under the slogan of “united and steadfast in confronting emerging challenges”.

Founded in 1961 in Belgrade, NAM has 120 members and 21 observers. The organization has sought to remain independent from global centers of power.
