Iran not standing on ceremony when it comes to territorial integrity, FM says

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has stressed that Iran does not stand on ceremony with anyone regarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexey Dedov was summoned to Iran's foreign ministry on Wednesday following the issuance of the Russia-PGCC joint statement over Iran's trio islands in the Persian Gulf.

On Wednesday, Amirabdollahian wrote on his Twitter account in Farsi that Iran does not stand on ceremony with anyone regarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

The participating countries in the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council P(GCC) meeting on Monday (July 10), issued a joint statement in part of which the false claim about the Iranian islands was repeated.

A day after the statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said, “The three islands belong to Iran forever, and issuing such statements contradicts Iran’s friendly relations with its neighbors.”
