On the sidelines of the conference Bonn 2 on Afghanistan held in Germany, Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt that the students’ attack on the British Embassy in Tehran was neither predictable nor approved by the Iranian officials.

According to Khabar Online correspondent, chaired by the Afghan officials, the conference was attended by almost about 90 foreign ministers and many representatives from around the world.

Salehi reiterated his position on Monday which had already been covered by the Western media. Earlier Iran’s Foreign Ministry had issued a statement expressing deep regret over the events that occurred after staging a demonstration by Basiji students in front of the British Embassy.

Commenting on the event, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast had also called the storm of Basiji students into the British Embassy "an unpredictable move".

Expressing their viewpoints on issues interested by both parties, Salehi and Bildt stressed on developing ties between Iran and Sweden and further cooperation.

They also discussed on the latest report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which claims through its nuclear program, Iran is seeking nuclear weapons.

The Swedish Foreign Minister underlined the interest of his country for maintaining and boosting ties with Tehran. He also expressed the deep concern of the European countries and foreign diplomats in Iran for attack on the British Embassy in Tehran.

Stressing that the case should be taken into consideration and legally prosecuted by Iran, Carl Bildt said such moves must be pre-empted in the future.
