China is ready to work with all sides to continue to play a constructive role in the comprehensive, long-term and proper resolution of the Iran nuclear issue, Xinhua quoted Hong as saying on Thursday.
"The six countries [the US, China, Russia, France, Britain and Germany (P5+1)] are communicating with Iran on relevant arrangements," he said.
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced on Wednesday that the next round of talks between Tehran and the P5+1 will be held on April 13, adding that the venue for the talks will also be decided soon.
Iran and the P5+1 have thus far held two rounds of talks, one in Geneva in December 2010, and another in the Turkish city of Istanbul in January 2011.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Iran has refuted the allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Tehran is entitled to peaceful use of nuclear technology.
The IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities, but has never found any evidence indicating that Tehran's nuclear energy program has been diverted towards nuclear weapons production.
