Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced the agreement on Wednesday when he returned to Tehran from Kyrgyzstan.
Oman will be in charge of the Iranian interests section in London while Sweden will represent the British interests in Tehran, Salehi told reporters.
“The Iranian Foreign Ministry will take measures for our countrymen in Britain to pursue their consular affairs with utmost ease and the least difficulty,” IRNA quoted him as saying.
The agreement was originally made during a meeting between Salehi and his British counterpart William Hague on the sidelines of the Afghanistan summit earlier this month.
The embassies were closed following the deterioration of relations after London imposed sanctions on Iran’s financial institutions, including the Islamic Republic’s Central Bank.
