Iranian artist Majid Abbasi is slated to serve on the jury of Poster for Tomorrow graphic design competition in the French capital of Paris.

Abbasi will join Cristina Chiappini, Gitte Just, Maria Magdalena Kurpik, Alain Le Quernec, Malte Martin, Leila Musfy, Michel Olivier, Carolina Rojas, Rene Wanner and Paula Troxler.

Born in 1965, Majid Abbasi graduated from the University of Tehran in visual communication and was a member of the board and treasurer of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS) from 2003 to 2006.

Abbasi has also been a member of Alliance Graphique International (AGI) since 2009 and his works have been published in numerous international magazines and books.

This year’s Poster for Tomorrow contest will be held on the theme of ‘Gender Equality Now!’ and the jury will select the best 100 posters to be published and exhibited around the world.

The pre-selection phase will be conducted by a committee of 100 members of the media, advertising and design industries, together with representatives from charities and human rights institutions professionals.

Iranian graphic designer Mohammad Ardalani is also a member of the pre-selection committee.

Ten posters will be selected for the permanent collections of several museums around the world.

Poster for Tomorrow is organized by 4tomorrow, an independent, non-profit organization based in Paris and aims to create the best posters addressing the chosen theme.
