Senior provincial officials from Iran's Western Province of Hamedan and Turkey's Southwestern province of Isparta explored avenues for the expansion and development of bilateral ties.

During the meeting held in Hamedan on Sunday, Governor-General of Hamedan Province Ali Mohammad Azad underlined the necessity for stronger interactions between his province and Isparta in different economic, social and cultural fields.

"We are fully prepared to establish all-out ties with Isparta," Azad said.

He pointed to the history of friendly ties between the two regions, and stated that reciprocal visits between provincial officials will increase the two sides' knowledge about the existing capacities and capabilities.

Several Iranian and Turkish provinces have so far signed cooperation agreements.

Iran and Turkey are determined to boost their trade exchanges to $30bln in the near future.

Iran and Turkey have in recent years increased their cooperation in all the various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy and culture.

The two sides have exchanged several politico-economic delegations during the last few months.
