Partovi’s Border Café has been Iran’s only representative in the Jawaharlal Nehru University international film festival which kicked off on October 14.
The 105-minute movie tells the powerful story of a single woman fighting to make her mark and control her own destiny in the man’s world.
Border Café was Iran's submission to the 79th edition of Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Language Film in 2007.
Some 12 countries such as France, United States, Tajikistan, Turkey and Germany have participated in the festival.
Organized by the university’s International Student Association, the festival presents the movies centered on social themes.
Jawaharlal Nehru University's international film festival is scheduled to run until October 16, 2012.
