However, the support given by Qatar looks promising: the Arabian monarchy provides Hamas with money for reconstruction, medical treatment and medicine. On the other hand, the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt is indebted to the United States for the aids received from the superpower and is not able to make its position defense of Hamas stronger. They are not ready for a big challenge with Israel, they have somehow learnt their lesson from the 8 years of war imposed on Iran by Iraq in 1980 and will eventually be satisfied with amendments would be made to Kamp David peace treaty since the other party has not torn up the document. So, why should they drop a brick?
This would be an option particularly at a time Iran is coping with the economic sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council and must come to its own relief. In such a new arena, the foreign ministers of Arab countries went heroically to Gaza to admire the bravery of revolutionaries involved in the Arab Spring revolutions. Earlier, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hamad bin Jassem al-Thani had said: “Most Arabs have become like sheep.” [He had admitted in at a lecture before Arab foreign ministers in Cairo that some Arab countries had participated in the siege on Gaza in the past few years.]
The Arab foreign ministers said by implication that the Palestinians themselves should cope with their problems in their home, not outside and they shouldn't expect the Arab Umma to be involved in Palestinian’s struggle against Israel. The Arab officials are ready to chant slogans in support of Palestinian combatants or negotiate for their cause but no more, since they are lame and the stage is long!
The regime of Bashar al-Assad will be no more in power in near future and Hezbollah of Lebanon’s fighters will keep their arms simply inside the territory of Lebanon and will take no action outside the framework of negotiations with the other parties.
On the other hand, Egypt is coping with serious economic problems and the new government led by President Mohamed Morsi is making efforts to strengthen the status of political Islam, why not? They have been waiting for almost 70 years to achieve such position. Turkey is not also in a serious conflict with Israel but is challenging the government of Bashar al-Assad instead.
Lacking a considerable military position in the region, Qatar will never pose a threat against Israel, so the issue of Hamas resistance must end (of course not forever) before the regime of Assad comes to an end. The brothers simply need to change their viewpoint and manifest the new one. The long-term ceasefire agreement signed by Hamas and Israel through the mediation of Cairo’s Muslim Brotherhood and of course, the shadow of Turkey on the region will be auspicious for all governments, from the Mediterranean Sea to Persian Gulf. Such situation will be like the swansong of resistance, but many will praise such state of being auspicious!
