NAM Coordination Center, which is under chairmanship of Iran's representative office in the United Nations, by issuing a strongly-worded statement, condemned the Zionist regime invasion against Syrian aerial space, and called on the UN Security Council members to condemn recent invasion of the Zionist regime.
The statement said that invasion of the Zionist regime against aerial space of Syria and bombardment of a scientific research center in Rif Province, which left seven people killed and wounded, is strongly condemned.
It said that the Zionist move is a blatant violation of international law as well as a breach of the UN Charter principles and goals and against an agreement on separation of forces of Syria and the Zionist regime.
The statement also declared solidarity with Syrian government and underlined necessity of the Zionist regime's being accountable for its aggressive acts.
NAM is comprised of some 120 member states and 17 observer countries.
NAM is an international organization of states considering themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. NAM is the largest grouping of countries outside of the United Nations.
NAM member states represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nations' members and comprise 55% of the world population, particularly countries considered to be developing or part of the Third World.
Tehran received NAM rotating presidency at the opening ceremony on August 26 from Egypt for a period of three years.
The Syrian Army said in a statement on last Wednesday that two people were killed and five others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a scientific center in Jamraya, 25 kilometers (15 miles) Northwest of the capital Damascus.
Syria said the attack struck vehicles and buildings at a military research center at Jamraya, North-West of Damascus and close to the Lebanese border.
Syria protested last week to the United Nations over the Israeli raid, saying it considered it a violation of a military disengagement accord following their last major war in 1973.
Its ambassador to Lebanon also warned that Syria could decide on a "surprise" response to the attack.
Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak implied Israel was behind the raid.
That attack has not prompted military retaliation yet.
