Amoli Larijani is scheduled to meet with Rohani on Wednesday, June 19, at the Expediency Council's Center for Strategic Research.
Rohani emerged victorious in the presidential election of June 14, which was marked by a high voter turnout, winning 50.7 percent of a total of 36, 704, 156 ballots counted.
The voter turnout in the election was 72.7 percent, according to Iran’s Interior Ministry.
Iran’s president-elect represents Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the Supreme National Security Council and is also a member of the Expediency Council and the Assembly of Experts. He is also the director of the Expediency Council's Center for Strategic Research.
Members of the Presiding Board of Iran’s Majlis will also meet with the president-elect in the coming days to discuss with him a whole range of issues, including cooperation between the future administration and parliament as well as Rohani’s possible picks for his cabinet.
Members of the Economic Committee of Iran’s Majlis are also scheduled to sit down with Iran’s president-elect next week to discuss the country’s economic problems.
“We expect Mr. Rohani to resolve the problems and [remove] obstacles [in the way] of producers just as he earlier stressed,” Arsalan Fathipour, the chairman of the committee, said on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and Hojjatoleslam Rohani held talks to exchange views on different issues.
Hojjatoleslam Rohani said after the meeting that the country’s problems would not be resolved overnight, emphasizing that difficulties should be gradually settled through consultation with experts.
