Iran’s Industries, Mines and Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said non-oil production and export are the ministry’s main strategies to achieve resistance economy.

Nematzadeh said auto-making firms must be supported to implement macro policies of the industry, noting that development is nearly impossible in industries suffering from long-term losses.

Speaking on the importance of research and design in auto industry, Nematzadeh asked automakers to cooperate with prominent international firms for implementing joint programs.

He also said that although Euro-4 gasoline is not distributed throughout the country, all sedans manufactured in Iran meet the related standards.

“Holding regular meetings of the Iranian Automotive Policy Council will support the industry,” he said.

Nematzadeh asked parliamentarians to consider both auto production and pricing, and help the auto-making industry prevent further losses
