Iran FM urges enhanced Tehran-Ankara cooperation

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Tuesday stressed the need for further expansion of cooperation between Iran and Turkey, especially on trade and consular issues.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.

The two foreign ministers discussed issues of bilateral importance mutual interest.

The Turkish foreign minister, for his part, condoled with the Iranian counterpart on a deadly building collapse in southwestern Iran and another deadly train crash in the county in which dozens were killed.

Cavusoglu prayed for immediate recovery of those injured in the incidents.

He invited Amirabdollahian to pay a visit to Turkey in the near future.
