FM: Iran likely to withdraw from NPT if Europe does not change stance

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian reacted to the European Parliament’s act against IRGC, saying that Iran may withdraw from Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) if Europe does not change its positions.

Based on the remarks made by the rotating head of the European Union, the Westerners do not tend to implement this resolution, Amirabdollahian said, adding that if Europe does not change its positions, the possibility of taking any countermeasures is conceivable.

He stated that the European Parliament made an emotional decision and did not act based on rationality.

He noted that the Iranian parliament's act that binds the government and at the same time blacklists the European military forces as terrorist army is a countermeasure.

Amirabdollahian said that a few European political leaders have no experience in the field of diplomacy and are today at the top of the diplomatic apparatus, including the German foreign minister.

If they do not follow rationality and do not correct their positions, any possibility is conceivable, he noted.
