Iran calls for expansion of economic ties with African states

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari has called for holding joint commissions of Iran and African countries, especially South Africa and Tanzania, with the aim of following up implementation of agreements and growing economic and trade ties.

The 12th meeting of the Headquarters for Coordination of Foreign Economic Relations was held on Monday to follow up on future visits by the Iranian president to South Africa and Tanzania as well as a coming trip by Iran’s vice president to Belarus.

Safari pointed to the importance of President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to the two African countries, calling for diversification and expansion of exports and imports
