‘Enemies’ attempts to infiltrate Iran oil industry foiled’

Deputy Oil Minister for Research Affairs Vahidreza Zeidifard has said that enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran are constantly trying to infiltrate the country’s oil industry, calling on all staff members to remain vigilant as they have already thwarted threats in the past two years.

Zeidifard made the comment on Thursday in Bandar Abbas, the capital of the southern province of Hormuzgan, where he addressed participants in the final and second day of a meeting of managers of gas refining companies.

He said that any disruption in the oil industry causes a crisis for the whole country. Therefore, he added, all the working staff should remain vigilant as enemies are constantly trying to infiltrate Iran’s oil industry.

The official referred to a cyberattack on the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company in 2021, which he said was aimed at creating a crisis for the country, adding that all threats by enemies have been thwarted in the past two years.
