Supreme Leader hails Islamic Jihad for pushing Zionists into ‘passive state’

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has hailed the recent victory of the Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad against the Israeli regime, saying the Zionist enemy has been pushed back into “a passive position".

In a meeting held in Tehran on Wednesday, the Supreme Leader congratulated Ziad al-Nakhala, secretary general of Islamic Jihad, and his accompanying delegation on the victory of the resistance movement in the recent battle against the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip.

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that the current situation of the Zionist regime is significantly different from some 70 years ago when the regime was established, emphasizing that the enemy is now in a passive position.

“This situation demonstrates that Palestinian resistance groups, including Islamic Jihad, have correctly identified the path forward and are proceeding with strategic wisdom,” he stated.

Ayatollah Khamenei further noted that “the Zionist leaders have reason to be concerned about the regime’s survival beyond its 80th anniversary".

Highlighting the key role of Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian groups in the fight against the Israeli regime, the Supreme Leader added that the resistance front’s increasing power in the occupied West Bank is “the main factor in bringing the Zionist enemy to its knees".

Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed gratitude for the efforts made by Palestinian resistance groups in achieving unity within their ranks, and reiterated the continued support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Palestinian people and their resistance.

During the meeting, Ziad al-Nakhala expressed his appreciation for Iran’s commitment and support for the Palestinian people and their struggle.

He also presented a report to Ayatollah Khamenei on recent developments in the occupied territories, particularly the defeat of the Israeli regime in the 5-day war in Gaza in May.
