Iran to bolster Farsi courses at Syrian, Lebanese universities

Iran’s Allameh Tabataba'i University has reached agreements with universities in Syria and Lebanon to strengthen Farsi (Persian language)courses in the two Arab countries, says the chancellor of the university.

Iran agreed to provide 10 top Farsi students from universities in Syria and Lebanon with the opportunity to study in Iran for one semester, and Iranian students majoring in Arabic language will also study at universities in the two Arab states for one semester.

Abdullah Motamedi said about his visit to the two Arab countries that the trip has helped strengthen Farsi education at universities in Syria and Lebanon.

The deputy minister of science research and technology, and chancellors of certain Iranian universities, paid a four-day visit to Syria and Lebanon on June 12-15, when they visited Syrian universities in Damascus, Aleppo, and Homs as well as some Lebanese academic centers.
