General Command of Iran's Armed Forces have cautioned the nation’s enemy, particularly the US and the Israeli regime against implementation of their military threats, vowing to deliver a “firm and regrettable” response in face of such action.

“In case any enemy threats, particularly those made by the US and the Zionist regime (Israel), are implemented [against the nation], the armed forces of the Islamic Republic are prepared to deliver a stiff and regretting blow, within its policy framework of proportional response,” said a Thursday statement issued by the Armed Forces General Command, marking the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Republic in the country.

It added that major recent developments in the region as well as the spreading protest movements in Europe and the US have been influenced by Iran’s enduring Islamic Revolution and the courageous resistance and steadfastness of the Iranian nation against diverse enemy threats and hostile scenarios.

Despite various plots against the Islamic Revolution such as sanctions, threats and aggression in the course of the past 34 years, the Islamic establishment and the Iranian nation has succeeded in making considerable progress in different fields, noted the statement.

It described the Islamic Republic as the pioneer in Islamic Awakening movements as well as a demonstration of disgust towards the warmongering policies of the US and its Israeli ally.

The spreading Islamic Awakening, inspired by the Islamic Revolution, the Middle East has turned into the most serious threat to the future of the bogus and illegitimate Israeli regime and Western dominance over the strategic region, it added.

The statement also emphasized that Iran's Armed Forces will utilize its utmost capabilities and valuable experience in countering enemies of the Islamic Revolution towards implementing this year’s target plan of promoting national production and supporting Iranian labor and capital.

The US and the EU have used Iran’s nuclear energy program as a pretext to impose sanctions against Tehran, while the Israeli regime has publicly engaged in making threats of military strikes against Iran.

Washington has also made repeated threats of keeping its military “options” against the Islamic Republic "on the table" in case its numerous economic and trade sanctions against the Iranian nation fails to force the country to abandon its nuclear energy program.

In an address on the occasion of Nowruz (Iranian new year) last week, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei reiterated that the Iranian nation will retaliate in kind to any possible attack against the country by the US or the Israeli regime.

“We do not possess a nuclear weapon and we will not build one, but we will defend ourselves against any aggression, whether by the US or the Zionist regime, at the same level,” the Leader said.
