In his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Mehmanparast said the upcoming meeting between Iran and the IAEA could pave the way for a more comprehensive cooperation between the both sides.
Iran’s Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Akbar Soltanieh said on April 27 that the meeting would be held in Vienna on May 13 and 14.
Iran and the representatives of the IAEA held two rounds of talks in the capital, Tehran, in February and January.
Mehmanparast added that this meeting will certainly focus on negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 (Britain, France, Russia, China and the United States plus Germany) which is due to resume on May 23.
Iran and the P5+1 wrapped up the first round of negotiations on April 14 in the Turkish city of Istanbul, and both sides hailed talks as successful and constructive.
The next round of talks will be held on May 23 in Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
“We have always been ready for cooperating with the agency and clarifying ambiguities,” Mehmanparast said, adding that Iran welcomes any move that strengthens bilateral collaborations.
