Following a meeting of ambassadors of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to Vienna on Thursday, Soltanieh said 100 countries have reaffirmed their support for Iran's nuclear energy program for peaceful objectives.
The NAM ambassadors issued a five-page statement , voicing their support for Tehran’s peaceful nuclear energy activities, he added.
The ambassador noted that the NAM statement would be read out during the upcoming session of the IAEA's Board of Governors next week.
“I appreciated NAM’s valuable support and once again assured that all nuclear activities of our country will continue for peaceful purposes and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency,” Soltanieh pointed out.
The United States, Israel, and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Iran refutes such allegations, arguing that as a committed signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the IAEA, it has the right to use the nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
