Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere has called for the continuation of negotiations between Iran and the six major world powers to find a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear issue.

We hope that the continuation of the talks between Tehran and P5+1 will lead to finding a proper and diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear energy issue which is agreed by both sides, Stoere said in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Oslo Hossein Rezvani, ISNA reported on Friday.

At the end of two days of talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- China, Russia, Britain, France and the US plus Germany on June 19, the sides agreed to hold a follow-on technical level meeting in the Turkish city of Istanbul on July 3.

The Norwegian foreign minister also expressed his country’s readiness to improve relations with Iran and hold close consultations with Iranian officials.

The Iranian ambassador, for his part, praised efforts by the two countries’ officials to bolster relations and expressed hope that Tehran and Oslo would strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly in the economic sector.

Rezvani also highlighted the significance of enhancing meetings between Iranian and Norwegian officials.
