Iran’s 2012 International Tourism Marketing Expo is set to kick off in the provincial capital of Shiraz, hosting representatives of nine countries.

The event which has been registered by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will introduce tourism potentials of Iran, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Kenya, Turkey, Thailand and Oman.

The expo will host travel industry professionals, and representatives of airline and cruise ship industries, media, tourism, advertising, hotel management and the marketing sector from July 4 to 7, 2012.

Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) Hassan Mousavi will attend the event’s opening ceremony along with UNWTO Deputy Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific Harry Hwang and a number of Iranian officials and foreign ambassadors.

Iran’s 8th International Tourism Marketing Expo will be provide new opportunities for members of the regional travel industry to meet, network, negotiate, conduct business and discuss the latest developments in relevant fields.

Iran is considered as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. The four-season climate, cultural diversity and matchless historical sites and handicrafts are only part of what it can offer.

The country stands fifth in terms of tourist attractions and holds the second position in biodiversity.
